'Build A Box Then Break It' is the first preview of new music from Ulrika Spacek, arriving with the announcement of their forthcoming new album Expo, due early next year. The new single is introduced with a grounded percussive clang, gradually built up with dreamlike synth strokes and accented by electric guitar, toeing the line between a digitised detachment and fundamentally human warmth — an essence which is indicated to be captured throughout Expo. “Our music has always been a collage – a bit patchwork, sonically – but what makes this album a landmark for us is that we went one step further and made our own sound bank and essentially sampled ourselves,” the band says of the album. EXPO is due for release on 6 February 2026 via Full Time Hobby. -Kayla Sandiford
